How can your clients allow you to train them .

As a fitness trainer, I stand by this: you don’t train anyone; they allow you to train them. It’s a process that requires trust and good communication with good guidance. Too often, trainers are given the short end of the stick when it comes to developing client relationships. The fact of the matter is, if you want someone to follow your direction, they need to trust you first. This begins with making a connection—fast. From there, the training can commence in an easy and seamless manner. Your clients will thank you for it!

1- You have the emotional knowledge of what you doing .

As a fitness instructor, having emotional knowledge is important in order to create a stronger bond with your clients. Emotional knowledge allows you to connect with your clients on a deeper level and understand their individual needs. This understanding can then be used to tailor your training methods and approach to each client, resulting in a more successful and enjoyable experience for both you and your client. In addition, emotional knowledge can also help you to better understand your own emotions and how they affect your training. By being aware of your emotions, you can better control them and ensure that they are positive and productive. If you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, for example, you can use this self-awareness to take a break or adjust your approach – Ultimately, emotional knowledge is an essential tool for any fitness instructor, and one that can make a significant difference in the quality of your service.


2. You give them a spot in the process

In the journey they are about to or are already in with you , they clients need to understand they also have missions, task , voice .

It’s a relationship so it takes two to make it stronger and sustainable.

They need to know that you two holding each other accountable for something .


3. You need to make them understand the why. The purpose of the training

You need to make sure that your clients understand why they are doing what you are asking of them. You owe them a clear explanation of what you are asking them to do. And as such, they will always hold you accountable to the clarity of your explanation. If you are unable to deliver a clear and concise explanation, they will not trust you or your abilities as a trainer. Before your sessions, take the time to have an explanatory overview of your session or your movement breakdown. This will help you be better prepared for questions from your clients. With a clear understanding of the why, your clients will be more likely to trust you and the training that you are providing them.


4- You don’t comprise but adjust .

As a personal trainer, one of the things I see clients do quite often is compromise their training plan in order to satisfy a client. While it’s important to be accommodating, compromising your program can actually set you and your client back in terms of progress. Instead of compromising, try to adjust your program so that it meets both your needs and your client’s needs. For example, if you have a client who is trying to lose weight, you might adjust the reps and sets but keep the exercises and weights the same. By making small adjustments, you can still provide an effective workout while keeping everybody happy.


5- You need to create an emotional escape zone for them to grow .

You need to create an environment for your client that will help them focus on what is necessary in order to always deliver their best performance. This environment should be one where the client feels comfortable communicating with you freely; an emotional escape zone of sorts. It is important to remember that this is a two-way relationship; so it takes two to tango. For athletes, you need to create an environment that will help them increase their training on their own. And for those who want to change their shape, you have to help them create that social life change. Creating this type of environment will help everybody involved grow and succeed.
